Devin Fuller didn’t just lead his team on a 4 game win-streak to make the playoffs. He didn’t just beat 5-2 Ramapo either. Instead, he put the team on his back accounting for 530 total yards of offense and 6 touchdowns. Old Tappan refused to let Ramapo get in the way of their playoff hopes. The 6 foot 195 pound Fuller threw two of his six touchdowns and ran for the other four against a star-studded Ramapo defense. No player in north jersey played like fuller on Friday night who electrified the crowd with his long runs. Junior wide reciever Johnny Trainer continued his great season scoring once from a pass from Fuller and Old Tappan also got contribution from senior linebacker Dan Falkenstern who had a game high 6 tackles. The next stop for Fuller and his team will be this Friday night when they take on Sparta in the quarterfinals of the playoffs.
Bottom line is that after a slow start to its season, both Fuller and Old Tappan have regained their confidence and are riding high. It seems as if no one can stop them and Fuller is looking sharp as ever. It will definitely be interesting to see if Fuller can lead Old Tappan in an improbable comeback to their first state championship game in over 10 years.
