North Jersey Semi Final Previews

North 1, Group 1- Saddle Brook vs Pompton Lakes

North 1, Group 1 is by far the most competitive of all. Its basically a coin flip each game. Last week, was able to edge out Hawthorne. Saddle Brook had Tyler Vitiello in their thoughts as they ran all over last years runner up Mountain Lakes last week. Rutgers-bound Steven Longa will lead the Falcons in what should be a nail-biter. No one has stopped the running attack of Saddle Brook and they are playing with a purpose. I like Saddle Brook in this one 27-21.

North 1, Group 2- River Dell vs Ramsey

These two teams have been waiting the whole season to get a shot at each other in the playoffs. River Dell won the matchup in the regular season but struggled in last weeks win over Ridgefield Park. It will be interesting to see if the River Dell defense can hold their ground against Ramsey’s offense. Since River Dell won the regular season game, I am going with Ramsey 24-14.

North 1, Group 3- Old Tappan vs Pascack Valley

Old Tappan is riding high after they put a beating on second seeded Sparta last week. Pascack Valley has looked strong vs every public opponent this year and is strong all around. The Old Tappan defense has been able to get stops when needed and has improved each week. If the Old Tappan offense run the ball effectively, I think the Golden Knights can come out with the win. Old Tappan 42-36.
