On Sunday, November, 27, Syracuse University fired assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine in the wake of sexual abuse allegations. The subject of this investigation is a phone call recorded in 2002 that revealed that Fine had several sexual encounters with Zach Tomaselli who was 14 at the time. Syracuse University issued a notice to the supporters and followers after Fine had been fired. This letter discussed the events that lead to the firing of Fine. The former assistant coach is now facing sexual assault charges. This story affects our whole country because it shows that people who break the law will face prosecution. My alternate headline for this story was “Sex abuse allegations force Syracuse to fire assistant coach”. I used this title because it pertains to both the allegation part and sexual part regarding the investigation that is nowhere near closed.
