Ellis Making the Most out of his Opportunities

Williamstown CB Mark Ellis is giving everything he can to convince Division 1 coaches that he is worthy of an offer. After missing his entire junior year season due to an ACL injury that required surgery, Ellis is doing his best to make up ground in 7 on 7’s. Not to mention, he has a senior year coming up that will decide the fate of his future. Ellis has attracted the likes of Temple, Rutgers, West Virginia and Pitt among others but is yet to land an offer. Coming back from an ACL injury is no easy task. Many defensive backs like Ellis rely on their knees in particular to break on the ball or react once a receiver makes his cut or move. With that said, the Williamstown product has put up impressive outings at 7 on 7’s in an effort to prove himself. Ellis prides himself on his technique. He is listed at 5’11, 180 pounds per scout.com. Following a 7 on 7 event in Youngstown, Ohio in late March, Ellis visited West Virginia. Ellis says that at the moment Rutgers is his number one. He was invited back to Rutgers for a practice after visiting earlier this month. The only thing missing for Ellis is an offer. If he keeps up the hard work and maintains his technique, that offer might come sooner than expected. Here are some of Ellis’ highlights from the NLA Elite 7 on 7 in North Bergen earlier this month.
