Sophomore OL Making a Name for Himself

Steven Gonzalez, a sophomore at Union City High School added Virginia and Massachusetts to his list of offers as he continues to gain interest from Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Penn State and Virginia among others. Gonzalez already holds offers from Rutgers, UConn, and Louisville in addition to Virginia and Massachusetts. The Union City offensive lineman is listed at 6’5, 310 per Scout.com. Gonzalez knows what he wants when looking for a school and has his eyes on the future.

“I’m looking for a school with good academics because education comes first. Then somewhere close to home. Even the state of Florida is good because I have family there.”

“Also a good offensive line coach that is willing to work with me to make me a better player, a better man, and get me ready for my future.”

Gonzalez also pointed out that he is looking for “a good campus atmosphere and a great fan base.”

“Finally, I want to go where I can start getting lots of playing time as early as possible. I want to play freshman year” he said.

Rutgers was the first offer to school Gonzalez. He said that as soon as he met with them last March, he knew he was capable of becoming a big Division 1 recruit. At this point in the recruiting process for Gonzalez, he is waiting for other offers to come in and starting to plan visits. Michigan visited him this week in addition to Virginia and UMass. Check out his highlight tape below:

Great kid on and off the field. Any school/team would be lucky to have him…
