Peppers is taking his talents to Ann Arbor

The long road of Jabrill Peppers high school football career took another step towards its end today when the Paramus Catholic DB committed to Michigan on ESPNU.

Peppers, a consensus 5 star player, chose Michigan over Stanford, Penn State, and LSU. The Paramus Catholic playmaker is the complete package. Peppers does well in the classroom, handles himself in a good manner off the field, and has the ability to score any time the ball is thrown his way.

A brief look into Peppers highlight tape from last season reveals that he can change a game in less than 10.5 seconds, the time it takes him to run the 100 meter dash. He is the definition of a playmaker.

Since Peppers transferred to Paramus Catholic in the winter of 2012 following a virtual national championship with Don Bosco, he has changed the landscape of New Jersey high school football.

Here’s a summary of what Peppers has accomplished in three years at Don Bosco and Paramus Catholic.

Don Bosco won its fourth state title in a row in 2010 when Peppers was part of a star studded defense in his freshman year. In his sophomore season, Peppers played both sides of the ball as a running back and corner at Bosco and helped his squad go undefeated and win its fifth straight title. In the winter of his sophomore season, things changed.

Peppers transferred to Paramus Catholic. He would help turn the big three of St. Joes, Bergen Catholic, and Don Bosco into the big four by leading the Paladins to their first Non Public, Group 4 State title since 1990.

Before Peppers came to Paramus Catholic in 2012, they were a team that had some missing holes. Even though they had an incoming senior class that stuck together, the Paladins were weak when it came to recruiting athletes fromaround New Jersey. The future was not bright as they lacked all-star players. Paramus Catholic needed to revive its program.

Jabrill Peppers was the answer. He changed New Jersey High School football and leveled out the playing field among New Jersey’s top teams. Not to mention, he still has his senior season ahead of him.

Peppers already stressed before choosing Michigan that he wants to win the Heisman Trophy in his freshman year.

Are the record books set by Michigan’s best DB Charles Woodson likely to be broken?
Only time will tell.
