Juwann Winfree, a consensus 4 star wide receiver from Dwight Englewood has verbally committed to Maryland. Winfree took his official visit last week to Maryland when they hosted West Virginia at M&T Bank Stadium.
“I just felt like there was my second home, I felt comfort and trust,” Winfree said.
Winfree originally planned to use all of his official visits and decide after the season, but knew after his visit he would be heading to Maryland.
Winfree was recruited to play both sides of the ball as a wide receiver and defensive back. Maryland plans to use him on offense. Winfree had offers from more than 20 schools including Michigan, West Virginia, and South Carolina after a strong junior season.
– St. Joseph (Montvale) quarterback Spencer Aukamp has been offered as a defensive back. Aukamp also has interest from UPenn, Amherst and Johns Hopkins. “I’d rather play quarterback, but if I get a great opportunity at a school like Cornell, I would play another position,”he said. Aukamp plans to visit Amherst on October 19, for their game vs. Wesleyan.
– St Joseph (Montvale) LB Mark Fossati is still receiving interest from several Division 1 programs. Earlier this week, Fossati was offered as a preferred walk on at Penn. State. Fossati currently holds three FBS offers from Towson, Lafayette, and Colgate. He is looking for playing time as a freshman will likely take his time and decide until after the season unless a FBS offer comes mid-season from a school like UMass or Princeton.
