St. Peter’s Prep vs. PC Preview

Paramus Catholic takes on St. Peter’s Prep for the Non-Public Group 4 title tonight at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. St. Peter’s Prep has been the powerhouse of Hudson County for as long as I can remember. Paramus Catholic can win their second sectional title in as many years with a victory tonight.

Coming into tonights matchup, one thing is for sure. This game is loaded with Division 1 prospects. Paramus Catholic has give or take 10 Division 1 prospects on their roster including WR/DB Jabrill Peppers and OL Juwann Bushell-Beatty (Michigan commits). The Paladins D1 recruits come from all over the field. Senior DE Terrence Harris is committed to Iowa and junior linebacker Saleem Brightwell added his first offer from Rutgers a few weeks ago. That’s just a brief look

St. Peter’s Prep junior dual-threat quarterback Brandon Wimbush has offers from nine schools including Ohio State, Penn State, and Miami. Junior defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick is projected to be one of the top prospects in the Class of 2015 and has offers from a plethora of schools including Alabama, Stanford and Wisconsin. Fitzpatrick also plays wide receiver on offense. Senior running back Jonathan Hilliman has committed to Rutgers. Freshman OL, yes I said freshman Ben Petrula picked up his first offer from Temple yesterday.

St. Peter’s Prep has the skill players to match up with Paramus Catholic, by can they win the battle up front?

This game is expected to be a high scoring affair. However, I think the Paramus Catholic defense will get pressure on Wimbush. With that being said, PC will have to limit the turnovers if they want to come out as champions. I think they will and the Paladins ail come away with their second straight title.

The pick: Paramus Catholic 21, St. Peters Prep 17.
