Montclair 2014 defensive end Darius Slade and his team put up a dominant performance to win the North 1, Group 5 state title 33-0. Slade, a consensus four three-star prospect, is one of several Division 1 prospects from New Jersey that is yet to make a college decision. In the weeks prior to the championship game on December 8, Slade revealed that Michigan State was his leader.

That has changed.

“I love all the schools. They are all great schools,” he said. In addition to Michigan State, Slade is considering Nebraska and Penn State.Penn State defensive line coach Larry Johnson was at MetLife Stadium to witness Slade win his second sectional title in as many years.

Slade spoke highly of Nebraksa after his sectional title victory at MetLife Stadium.

“They have pretty much everything. Academic support, coaches, team. The thing is, there is a lot of stuff going on in the media about coach Bo Pelini leaving. Looking from the outside in, he doesn’t seem like a great coach. But when you get a chance to actually meet him, and you talk to some of the players, they have nothing but great things to say about him. He’s a leader, a great coach, a father to all the guys. Al the players love him.”

Slade took his official visit to Nebraska on November 28.

“After the Nebraska visit, I noticed that all the schools are great schools.” he said.

Slade is expected to make his decision on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
