Daivon Ellison is a Syracuse man.
The 2015 Don Bosco DB notched his commitment to the Orange via Twitter on Monday. It was only a matter of time before Ellison made his commitment public after he had shown so much interest in the Orange since adding an offer in the spring.

In the months following his Syracuse offer in the spring, Ellison showed affection to Syracuse fans and commits on social media.
At one point, Ellison said he was “close to a decision” in June after Syracuse extended a tender in May.
Over the summer, Syracuse strengthened its 2015 recruiting class by adding two consensus four star recruits from the Garden State. South Brunswick ATH Dontae Strickland and Union City DB Daiquan Kelly both committed to Syracuse.
It seemed too good for Ellison to make any changes or back out of his near verbal commitment in the spring after speaking so highly of Syracuse.
Analysis: Ellison has started at cornerback since his sophomore year at Don Bosco. As a junior, he became a threat to opponents on both sides of the ball. Ellison played cornerback, slot receiver, and returned kicks while helping the Ironmen to a 7-4 record in 2013.
The bottom line is that Ellison is an absolute playmaker. He plays very physical, has good technique, and is more than capable of working on his own “island” vs. top receivers. His only downside is his size. Ellison is listed at 5’9, 178 lbs on rivals.com. However, that did not stop him from earning a handful of Division 1(A) offers.
Ellison chose Syracuse over Rutgers, Boston College, Old Dominion, and Army.
