Trumbetti to Notre Dame

New Jersey saw its first big commitment in the Class of 2014 today when Andrew Trumbetti Committed to Notre Dame. The Demarest athlete played several positions for his high school team last year but was recruited by Notre Dame as a defensive end. It seemed all along that the fighting irish were Trumbetti’s number 1 school until he made the final decision. The school in South Bend, Indiana had been a childhood favorite.
Trumbetti possess a good build at 6’4, 245 and gets off the ball really well. Notre Dame has only extended offers to two players in the Class of 2014, the other being Jabrill Peppers. Trumbetti told me he became friends with Jay Hayes, a class of 2014 Notre Dame recruit from Brooklyn, NY.
“I can totally see myself becoming real close friends with him. He has a great family, we share the same desires and he’s just a kid I can be around.” said Trumbetti.
Notre Dame has extended interest towards New Jersey’s Garrett Dickerson, Quenton Nelson, and Kiy Hester but has not yet offered. Stanford and Florida were among the other schools in contention for Trumbetti. Posted below is the link for his junior year highlight tape:
